General Considerations

  • young dogs (1-7 years) and may be heritable in Siberian Husky and King Charles Cavalier Spaniels
  • histology: eosinophilic and granulomatous inflammation
  • location: lateral and ventral aspects of the tongue
  • gross appearance: raised and ulcerated
  • treatment: corticosteroids, surgical excision, or spontaneous regression
  • recurrence is rare
